Frequently Asked Questions

A VIP VAULTS safety deposit box provides a secure and convenient place to store your most valuable and irreplaceable items. Unlike traditional home storage options such as closets, safes, or file cabinets, our vault boxes offer superior protection against fire, water, and theft. Only you know what’s inside, ensuring complete privacy and peace of mind.

At VIP VAULTS, we understand the importance of safeguarding your valuables. Storing them in our state-of-the-art vaults not only ensures maximum security but can also lead to lower insurance premiums, as many insurance companies offer discounts for items kept in professionally managed vaults rather than at home.

At VIP VAULTS, your safety deposit box (SDB) is completely secure, with access restricted exclusively to you, except under specific prearranged conditions. If you have designated an executor in your will, they can access your SDB, provided they present a valid Letter of Probate and a copy of your will that names them as the Executor of your estate. This arrangement must be established in advance to ensure that we can act in accordance with your wishes, allowing the executor to manage your affairs as intended.

In rare circumstances, if a registered government representative presents an appropriate court order, we are legally obligated to grant access to your SDB. Rest assured, VIP VAULTS cannot and will not access your SDB without your explicit permission or legal authorization.

All VIP VAULTS safety deposit boxes (SDBs) include $10,000 of insurance coverage as part of our service. Should you wish to secure additional insurance, we can facilitate this process, though you will need to disclose the contents of your SDB to the insurer for evaluation purposes.

As stated in our terms, VIP VAULTS maintains no knowledge of the contents of your SDB. It is your responsibility to ensure that your valuables are insured to the value of your choosing. We are here to assist you in arranging the appropriate coverage to meet your specific needs.

Your privacy is paramount. Your possessions are securely stored in a closed container within our vault, and access is strictly limited to you unless authorized by law or by your explicit consent. When you open your safe deposit box and manage its contents, you will be given complete privacy. For added discretion, we offer private viewing rooms should you require them.

We prioritize safety and compliance with the law. Items that are illegal or pose health or environmental risks are strictly prohibited from being stored in our safe deposit boxes. This includes, but is not limited to, firearms, explosives, ammunition, drugs, flammable liquids, and any other hazardous materials.

At VIP VAULTS, our safe deposit boxes and vaults are available for a minimum rental period of one month, with the most common term being 12 months. We also offer flexibility for special arrangements, depending on your individual needs. Before your rental agreement expires, you’ll have the option to extend it either automatically or with your approval, ensuring continuous protection for your valuables.

It’s important to consider that keeping valuable and irreplaceable items such as heirlooms, jewelry, and important documents at home could potentially put you and your family at risk. For optimal protection, these items may be better stored in a secure safe deposit box away from your residence. Additionally, the risk of fire and flood should be a key consideration when deciding how to safeguard possessions that cannot be replaced.

You can securely log in to our website to access your metal account statements. These statements allow you to confirm the details of your account holdings at the time of purchase, at the end of the financial year, and upon request.

Specifically designed for the secure storage of gold, silver, and other precious metals, VIP VAULTS Bullion Locker Safes offer one of the highest levels of security available in the market today. While they are specially built for bullion, these lockers can also be used for the secure storage of other valuable items.

At VIP VAULTS, our Bullion Locker Safes are housed within a dedicated bullion vault, protected by multiple layers of security. Each bullion locker features a double-locking mechanism—one custodial key is held by VIP VAULTS, while you hold the only client keys, ensuring that only you can access your locker.

You are the only person with access to your safety deposit box at VIP VAULTS. Access is granted through two layers of security: biometric (wrist vein reader), and physical (your unique key). We do not retain any keys that match your safe deposit box, ensuring that only you can open it.

No, finding a lost key would not grant anyone access to your safety deposit box at VIP VAULTS. The key is just one of two layers of security required to access our facility. Without the other security measures -biometric wrist vein reader—unauthorized individuals would not be able to enter our premises.

Even in the unlikely event that a current client found your key, they would still be unable to access your safe deposit box. Our staff are only authorized to assist the specific client they are attending to, and your personal lock on the SDB would remain secure. Additionally, our vault is under 24/7 surveillance, ensuring that all transactions are continuously monitored for your protection.

No, a VIP VAULTS staff member has access only to a Custodian Key, which is just one part of the security required to access a safe deposit box (SDB). The Custodian Key can only unlock one of the two locks on your SDB. It is used by our staff who manage the safe deposit boxes within the vault, but it cannot open any SDB on its own. The only duplicate of your key is held exclusively by you.

When you lease a safe deposit box, a refundable Security Key Deposit of $300 is required. This deposit is returned to you upon the termination of your lease. The Security Key Deposit covers the cost of accessing your SDB in the event that you lose your key. If this occurs, we will need to drill out the lock on your SDB, which can only be done in your presence. Should you wish to continue leasing an SDB after the lock is replaced, another $300 Security Key Deposit will be payable at that time.

Consider placing any personal items in your VIP VAULTS safety deposit box that would make you say, “If I lose this, I’m in trouble.” Important documents to store include the originals of your insurance policies, family records such as birth, marriage, and death certificates, original deeds, titles, mortgages, leases, and other contracts. Additionally, valuable assets like stocks, bonds, certificates of deposit (CDs), bullion, precious metals, special jewellery, medals, rare stamps, and other collectibles are ideal for secure storage in your box.

You might also store negatives of irreplaceable photos, as well as videos or pictures of your home’s contents for insurance purposes in case of theft or fire damage. With the growing importance of digital assets, many clients are also choosing to store their cryptocurrency keys or hard drives in their VIP VAULTS safe deposit boxes to ensure these critical assets remain secure and inaccessible to unauthorized individuals.

Absolutely not. What you choose to store in your vault or safe deposit box is entirely your private matter. Except for disclosure to your insurer if you opt for additional coverage, only you will know the contents of your SDB. Your privacy is our utmost priority at VIP VAULTS.

Our safe deposit boxes start at just $340 per year, which is roughly equivalent to the cost of one coffee per week. The final cost depends on the size of the safe deposit box you require, allowing you to choose the option that best suits your needs. Please see prices here

In the unlikely event that VIP VAULTS were to be placed into liquidation or administration, your assets cannot be seized by the liquidator or administrator because at no time can the contents of your personal safety deposit box be deemed as assets of VIP VAULTS.
